Analysts
Don’t tell the developers but the RPA analysts are the key to a successful RPA Project. I have read some estimates that upwards of 70% of the RPA project resources are, or should be, dedicated to pre-development analysis. The RPA analyst(s) will look at the existing ‘As-Is’ processes and work with SME’s and stakeholders to determine the ROI impact RPA can have on process improvement.
A strong foundation of BA skills such as the IIBA, combined with Lean Six Sigma, will provide the detailed, analysis skills to succeed as an RPA Analyst. More senior roles will require the growing process mining skills, that combine software and analysis, to discover and design improved processes.
The formal title of ‘RPA Analyst’ is still new so when looking for jobs be sure to use keywords such as ‘Process Improvement Analyst’, ‘Business Automation Analyst’, etc. in your searches.
